The practical problem with sand is the weight.
So, you'll need to find a place fairly close to you or you'll pay a fortune.
I bought my sand at T&S
Materials (940-665-2433)
in Gainesville, Texas.
They sell
white sand in 100 lb bags and it is quite inexpensive, but you have
to pick it up. So, unless you're in the North
Texas area, it's just not practical.
